ActionReward

Gamified to-do list: Every tick scores.

ActionReward is a gamified to-do list app for iPhone and Android: type an action, tick it, and the tick scores.

The ActionReward Actions list with the stats pinned: each row shows its Chips, +Mult and skills. Bonus rows show ×1.25 and Gold rows ×2.25, like “Finish the project proposal”: +38, +0.5, ×2.25.

Ticking a box should feel like something. Same task. Different app.

In most to-do apps a finished task greys out or gets a line through it, and that’s it.

Here, the same task and the same tick build a score. That’s the difference between a gamified task app and a plain list: what a tick does.

Try the tick on the homepage
“Most to-do apps”: in a plain list, “Run 3 km without stopping” is ticked and struck through, and nothing happens. “Boring.” In ActionReward, claims tick through the list and the app recolours as it levels up (“Level up.”). The same task adds +32 Chips and +0.5 Mult (“Every tick scores.”), two Jokers add more Mult (“Stack +Mult.”), and a Gold multiplies the whole day ×2.25 (“Then multiply.”): today’s XP jumps from 8.13K to 24.77K.
The same task, ticked twice: once in a plain list, once here.

How a gamified to-do list works.

Every tick is a claim, and the reward page adds it up in a fixed order. Follow one: “Finish the project proposal”, a Gold action with two skills.

  1. Tap an action, then Claim Reward

The reward page builds the claim step by step, on top of today’s run. This one starts a fresh run: 0 Chips, ×1 Mult.

  2. Its Chips go in

An action’s Chips are its skill points, or 10 when it has no skills. This one adds +38 Chips.

  3. Each skill adds +0.25 Mult

Two skills make +0.5, added straight to the day’s Mult.

  4. Your Jokers fire, left to right

Jokers are perks bought with Silver, and you equip up to three. They fire in slot order: some add Chips, some add Mult, some multiply it. With Ember Heart equipped at level 1 (+0.25 Mult on every claim), the day’s Mult reaches ×1.75.

    Jokers and your loadout
  5. Bonus or Gold multiplies last

A Bonus action multiplies the whole day’s Mult ×1.25, a Gold one ×2.25. This one is Gold: ×1.75 becomes ×3.94.

  6. Chips × Mult is today’s XP

It’s recomputed after every claim, so the +Mult you stack before a ×Mult gets multiplied too.

One tick, on a fresh run
  • 150 XP 38 Chips × 3.94 Mult, rounded
  • 12 Level The square root of 150, rounded down

Actions inside a Smart Goal are Bonus or Gold three times as often. Smart Goals turn one big goal into those actions, which makes ActionReward a goal planner app too.

The reward page after a Gold claim: three Jokers add +0.45, +0.45 and +5 above 70 CHIPS × 33.3 MULT, 2.33K earned, then the claim’s own steps: +30 (2 skills), +0.5 (2 skills) and ×2.25 Gold.
Another claim, later in a run: your Jokers on top, Chips × Mult, then that claim’s own steps.

Today’s XP sets your level.

ActionReward is a to-do list with XP and levels: your level is the square root of today’s XP, rounded down, from L1 up to a hard L1000 cap.

Your level isn’t a lifetime bar: it’s today’s run. Six ranks to climb every day, from Novice to Legend, each with its own character. Your app levels up with you: its colours follow your rank.

Tomorrow is a fresh run. The run resets at local midnight, and the next morning yesterday turns into Silver, which you spend on Jokers and Streak Freezes: that’s a to-do list that rewards you. Silver, Jokers, skill levels and your streak carry over; here’s how the daily run works.

Hero’s Path, open on the Hero rank: Level 150–449, marked Next, with Level 89 → 150 · 28%: today’s run is 28% of the way from Adept to Hero.

Still your to-do list.

A calm list. The score when you want it.

It’s a daily to-do list first: one-off or repeating actions (daily, weekly, monthly, or a set number of times), and a schedule if you want one.

One tap on the chart icon at the top of the list (“Always show stats”) shows or hides every row’s numbers; hidden, rows stay calm: a title, its repeat or schedule, its progress. Drag to reorder today’s list; swipe a row to edit or delete it.

Nothing to tag: type a title, and AutoSkills picks its skills from the title alone, within a weekly allowance. See the RPG habit tracker for the seven skills.

The same Actions list with the stats hidden: titles, repeat icons, a schedule (Oct 15 at 7:00 PM) and progress such as 12/30 and 6/8.

Questions, answered.

Is there a to-do list app that feels like a game?

Yes: ActionReward, a to-do list game app for iPhone and Android. Every tick scores Chips × Mult, your hero has six ranks to climb every day, and the app recolours as you climb. Underneath, it’s a normal list: one-off and repeating actions, with an optional schedule.

How do XP and levels work?

Each tick raises today’s XP, which is Chips × Mult, and your level is its square root, rounded down: 100 XP is level 10, and 10,000 XP is level 100. A level lasts one day; your skills keep levels of their own that never reset. The daily run and its cap

Is it childish?

“Still your to-do list. Now it keeps score.” One tap hides the numbers, there’s nothing to set up, and the game lives in what a tick does.

Is there a website or desktop version?

No. ActionReward is an app for iPhone and Android; there’s no web or desktop version. Sign in with Apple, Google, or email.

Is it free?

Free to download. Every smart tool (AutoSkills, Smart Goals, the Weekly Coach) is included within a weekly allowance. Premium gives you 10× the weekly usage, more Energy and two app icons, monthly or yearly, and you can cancel anytime. It never sells Silver, Jokers or run progress. What Premium adds

Does it make a sound when I tick something?

No: the app plays no sound effects. Claims come with haptics instead, and you can switch them off in Settings → Haptics & Vibration.

Make every tick count.
